The Hottest Hotel Openings to Have on Your Radar in 2025

There’s something undeniably thrilling about experiencing a brand new hotel. Each year, a handful of properties open not just as places to stay, but as destinations in their own right.

For 2025, the lineup is particularly exciting. From an ultra-exclusive alpine retreat in the Dolomites to a modern expression of luxury on Lake Como, these openings aren’t just adding to the travel landscape; they’re shaping it. Some revive historic grandeur, like the much-anticipated Orient Express La Minerva in Rome, while others, like The One & Only Moonlight Basin in Montana, introduce a new way to experience a destination altogether.

48 Hours in Pebble Beach: An Escape to Casa Palmero

The drive from Los Angeles to Pebble Beach is just under five hours, making it an easy yet scenic escape up the California coast. A stop in Montecito for brunch at Lucky’s and a detour through Big Sur to take in the beautiful coastline and then a stop in Carmel-by-the-Sea for some shopping and galleries turn the drive into an experience of its own. My destination, Casa Palmero, was an intimate 24-room retreat within Pebble Beach Resorts that feels more like a private estate than a hotel—because it once was. Originally built in the 1920s as a Mediterranean-style residence, the property was later transformed into an exclusive guest retreat, offering a level of privacy and personalized service that sets it apart from the other properties in the area.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Yountville, Bardessono is one of my favorite hotels in Napa Valley. The property is known for both its luxury and sustainability, beautifully integrating art and architecture into its design. The hotel not only boasts LEED certification, showcasing its commitment to environmental responsibility, but it has also recently been awarded two Michelin keys, underscoring its exceptional culinary offerings and overall guest experience. My recent stay in a Pure Room was nothing short of peaceful and relaxing, which is what I am looking for when I visit Napa Valley.

When you think about quintessential American summer destinations, the East Coast classics most likely come to mind, like Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Cod. Unless you are from the Midwest, a tiny island in the middle of Luke Huron in Michigan probably isn’t on your radar, but should be. For me, growing up on the West Coast, I had no idea that this charming little island existed until I visited this summer. It’s main attraction? The storied Grand Hotel Mackinac Island.
